10 play’s January Watch List
Published: 07 January 2019
Welcome to 2019 everyone! What better way to escape the heat than by settling in for some super cool TV.
Rather than make you wait until daylight savings is over, 10’s getting in nice and early with its line-up this year. So fear not faithful telly-lovers! This is a far cry from B-grade summertime TV.
Must Watch: I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Airs Sundays 7.30 from January 13
No really, they’re totally in for it.
ICYMI, I’m A Celebrity is the show that puts a carefully picked bunch of celebrities to the test in the African Jungle where they’re fed little-to-no food, and then thrown into less than desirable situations.
Past Celebs have been forced to lie in dark underground pits full of snakes; have their heads inserted into boxes that were then filled with cockroaches; been fed smoothies containing ingredients that are better left unsaid; and jump from crazy heights into great big ravines, all in the hope of winning food for the camp.
The only way out of a challenge is to say the words – “I’m a celebrity… get me out of here!”
Eating random animal anuses aside, IAC gives us intimate and often surprising insights into celebrities we think we know, and some we may not be familiar with, but often come to love (or loathe).
We watch as unlikely friendships are formed, like season four’s bromance between Josh Gibson and Peter Rowsthorn. We’re awed by unique acts of bravery, like Simone Holtznagel’s ability to overcome Tucker Chewsdays like an absolute champion.
While the show pushes Celebs to their absolute limits, tempting them to yell the words “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”, we get to sit back, relax and watch it all unfold from the comfort of our own homes – and you, the public, get to vote for your favourite Celeb, sending the winner home with a bucket load of cash for their chosen charity. Does TV get much better?
And that’s all we can really tell you at this point, because it’s all filmed live, so the drama is yet to unfold!
Want to catch up on past seasons? Seasons two, three and four can be found on our brand new paid streaming service, 10 All Access.
But What Else Is There?
Rumour has it that everyone’s favourite problem solver Dave Hughesy Hughes will be back with a brand new season of Hughesy, We Have A Problem on 10 in early 2019.
Not only that, but Two and A Half Men (the Charlie Sheen years) will be kicking off over on 10 Peach along with New Girl and Fresh Off The Boat. PLUS, Supernatural and This Is Us will also be returning. And that’s alongside The Flash and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, so things are also looking pretty peachy indeed!
